Banff Mountain Film Fest
Pretty epic day yesterday. I had the good fortune to get a solid 3 1/2 hour ride on the single speed with a bunch of great riders. Tons of rolling single track mixed with some gnarly technical rock sections, a few of which I cleaned unexpectedly!! Whoo Hoo! After the ride I was able to head out to the Banff Mountain Film Fest here in Colorado Springs and thoroughly enjoyed not only the great compilation of films but a few sneaky PBRs as well. It is always good when your buddies think alike and everyone brings in the booze!!
Now the Banff MFF is always epic but this year they did it like never before and really struck a cord with one particular film. I am not sure of how many of you have heard of Ryan Leech but this guy is amazing!!! He has been riding bikes competitively since he was 14, and now 12 years later he really shows his stuff. I first saw him last year at the fest and was blown away with his technical ability. Ryan's spacial awareness is phenomenal!! Check out the short expert of his ability and be prepared to be blown away!! And if you dig his style he has a new film out called CRUX.
On this years film he had even more epic stunts that are definitely worth checking out.
In addition the film fest had a great mix of excitement with extreme base jumping in China, out of control backcountry skiing, epic Patagonia winter climbing and much much more!!
You really should check to see when this fest is coming to a venue near you and spend the cash ($12) for a great evening of awesome films!!
