The Inaugural Pikes Peak Road Ascent

The Inaugural Pikes Peak Road Ascent is a unique race that features a run up one of America's most beautiful mountains! Passing wildflowers, reservoirs, and even wildlife, this paved road up Pikes Peak is the perfect way to see all the mountain has to offer. Well, half of what it has to offer. This race is 11.6 miles from the base of the peak to near tree line at Glen Cove.

With an average grade of 5-8%, this 3,675 vertical gain race is a challenging course. The Pikes Peak Highway is usually closed to runners and bicyclists, but on Sunday, August 28th, it will be closed to traffic and open to athletes! The mountain will be full of them that day including not just runners but bikers as well for an Assault On The Peak Fun Ride.
