National Parks Offering Free Military Active Duty Annual Pass

Starting this Saturday, May 19th, if you are an active military just scored the big one! The U.S. National Parks will be providing FREE annual passes to more than 2,000 national parks and other public lands. It's a fitting day to start offering these passes, given that Saturday is Armed Forces Day. Who do you have to thank for this? Well, Michele Obama and Jill Biden for one.

The price of offering the free passes could cost anywhere from $2-$6 million, which the U.S. National Parks Service says will not bother their annual income.

The passes are available for any active military, national guard and reserve members. They are not available for veterans however, if you are 62 or older you qualify for a Senior Pass. You can buy a Senior Pass in person from a participating Federal recreation site or office or by mail. And if you have a permanent disability you may qualify for an Access Pass.

Active or retired, thanks for all you have done and continue to do. Now, get out there and explore our nation's amazing parks!!!

Adventure On!
