Classic 60's Formula

"The beer that made Milwaukee famous" is the Schlitz claim to fame. I know many of you are going to see this choice and immediately roll your eyes, but read on and see why I dubbed Schlitz Classic '60s Formula more than worthy to be our BOTW!  Okay, I know I didn't really need to use a glass for the pic, but it's tradition.

The bottom line is we love beer, all sizes, shapes, colors, and flavors. For many of our adventures we pack in a celebratory beer or two, with only one rule to that, canned beer only. We don't want our beers to break before we get to our destination and we love crushing the cans for easy packing out. No brainer right? Not only is the Schlitz Classic 60's Formula a legend amongst the golden beers, Schlitz is an innovator to canned and bottled drinks everywhere. A few little known facts about Schlitz brewing company is they introduced the world to the first "soft top" and the "pop top" on aluminum cans making accessibility easier. They were also the originator of the 24 oz. that we all know and love, "The Tall Boy". One more legendary feat to add to the list, in 1911 Schlitz was the first company to use "brown glass" for their bottling, which is used to prevent light from prematurely spoiling beer still to this day!

I think those reasons alone are awesome enough to crown anything from Schlitz as our BOTW, but there can be only one so I'm going with their American Yellow Lager, Classic '60s Formula. Thank you Schlitz for being pioneers and innovators. Thank you for making our beer drinking experiences that much and more convenient!
