Fire Rock Pale Ale

The Fire Rock Pale Ale in a sense is Kona Brewing Company's way of paying homage to the active volcanoes on the "Big Island" of Hawaii. Or maybe it has something more to do with it's bright copper colored body and rich roasted malt taste. Either way I'm enjoying it far from those Volcanoes here in Colorado.

The Fire Rock has a crisp Pale Ale taste that says hi at the beginning of the drink, but that sharp greeting doesn't stick around long. It's smooth and has a light mouth feel and texture, with a thin lacing that clings to the glass. There is a sweet bready grain taste to it, mixed with roasted malts, and hints of floral hops that follow. The Fire Rock has a rich copper body and pours to an off white head. A very relaxed brew, perfect as a post workout drink.
