Mountain Livin

I have a certain adoration for beers in a can...whether it is a tall boy of Schlitz or a 12 oz of some Mexican swill there is nothing quite like the can delivery system.

This week's BOTW is brought to you by the Edwards, COLO. based Crazy Mountain Brewing Company. The Mountain Livin' Pale Ale is sweeter than it is bitter and speaks from the heart of mountain culture, smooth, crisp and delicious, much like a spring or fall evening. I must warn you that while it is sweet, the bitter notes are still present and folks that don't dig on hops may be surprised just as those that love hops will too. By using American hops varieties that are just now starting to gain notoriety (Simco and Citra) you get a almost tropical fruit note in the mid sip and while a lot of APA and IPA style beers have the tendency to dry your mouth out, this one is slightly sticky and keeps a bit of the sweetness from the hops and malt. All I can say is have an open mind and you will enjoy this beer.  While not the best representation fo the style it is a damn fine beer that will be helping me toast future trips into the woods.

CMB was started by a few buddies in 2010 and has now expanded it's distribution footprint to select and forward thinking states: Georgia, Colorado, Florida, Texas, California, Minnesota, Ohio, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Oregon.
