American Pale Ale
Another beautiful Sunday here in Colorado Springs. Although we really need the snow I hope everyone here is getting out and taking advantage of this warm weathering one form or another. It's also the third Sunday of the month, which means UpaDowna led a local family friendly hike here in town. This week we hiked the Mt. Cutler Trail in North Cheyenne Canon. We had about twenty people come out and the conditions couldn't have been better. Now home and planning future trips for more Sunday Adventures and backpacking I'm feeling the need for a tasty beer.
Grand Teton Brewing Company's Sweetgrass Ale is an American Pale Ale with a crisp and refreshing taste that helps beat the heat on a sweltering summer day.
Being an American Pale Ale, the Sweetgrass isn't as hoppy as Indian Pale Ales, which might be a plus for some of you don't like all the bite. As for the IPA fans out there, don't be discouraged. This ale is still very crisp and has a nice amount of bitterness to it. The Sweetgrass pours to a hazy copper body with a thin off white head. It's ABV registers at 6.0% and goes down easy.
Happy 4th of July everyone!!! What a special day it is to be a red blooded, cold beer loving American, so I had to find an extra special beer to celebrate this BOTW/Independence Day with. It was a tough choice, but there was one beer that caught my eye, Liberty Ale, by Anchor Brewing Company.
