Before the explosion that is about to take place that will be me unloading, cleaning, and packing away my gear, it’s time for a beer! This weekend a couple buddies and I ventured into the Eagles Nest Wilderness of Colorado. To be honest, this trail kicked my butt! 16 miles later, a couple rolled ankles, a busted toe, and the worst blister I’ve ever had, I’m glad to be home drinking this cold one, but it was all worth it! Well, let’s get to the beer and write a trip report later.
This week my lips found their way to Crazy Mountain Brewery’s Neomexicanus Native Pale Ale. The Neomexicanus poured to a bright yellow with a full fluffy white head. This tasty American Style Pale Ale is truly an American style brew, packed with hops such as humulus lupulus neomexicanus, which is native to Colorado and New Mexico, unlike several of the other beers we pound down on a regular basis. Light malts, citrus, and specifically lemon ring out on the aroma upon opening the can. The taste of citrus continues on a zesty mouthful of flavor. This is a deliciously refreshing and crisp beer. It’s great tasting and goes down smooth, with a decent ABV of 6.0%. I picked this beer up in a build your own 6 pack style shopping experience. I’m really regretting only putting the one in the mixer right now. The Nemomexicanus is a flat out great beer! Something I’m definitely thankful for right now after a long day. With that being said and a beer left for me to finish and a bag to unpack, I’m gonna get on with my night. If you have the chance to check out this beer, you should do so!
