"Helping the earth, one garment at a time." With a motto like that, how can you not be interested in these clothes? Aventura features many eco-friendly fabrics in their clothing as well as many items that are made in the U.S.A.. I had the opportunity to test out some Spring '13 samples, the Afton Pant and the Novack Hoodie.

With the work that I do, my clothes have got to be ready to take on anything or else I just can't wear them. Sometimes, I go straight from a meeting to a hike, back to the climbing gym, pick up my son from school and then to a retail job where I work with customers. If I find pants that can do all that and in one day none the less, I know I've found a winner. The Afton Organic Cotton Pants from Aventura are one of those. They came along with me for a night at the climbing gym and then out on the town. I was comfortable in them while climbing, they have enough room to move around in however, the ramie fabric (one of the strongest natural fibers) produces a slight stiff feeling in the pants especially after washing (machine wash cold, tumble dry low). Afterward, I felt comfortable wearing them out to dinner as they make for a nice dress pant as well due to the straight leg silhouette. The pants fit true to size and did not shrink with drying. The pockets are comfortable and functional, including the back pockets which feature buttons. They made a great, comfortable outfit with the next product, The Novack Hoodie.
- Universally flattering mid-length sleeve
- Classic fit – not too tight, but not too loose. Cut to flatter a woman's shape
- 100% cotton jersey
- Made in USA
Although this garment is not organic cotton, I still felt great wearing it because it is made in the USA. It is a very comfortable top, has a nice design and has some cool features like the mid-length sleeves and of course, the hood itself. The shirt fit a little big for my normal medium size so I'd probably choose a small next time. I like my shirts fitted and this one was just a little to baggy in the midsection, which, would have been nice back in my baby-on-board days! Its a super soft cotton and has not showed any signs of shrinking after drying. This shirt along with the pants, accompanied me while climbing and then to dinner and I was comfortable in both situations. I tested the white hoodie out so I added a thin tank top underneath to prevent see-through. Outside on warm sunny days, the Novack keeps me cool but also protects my shoulders from the sun!
