Backpacker’s Pantry Meals

Tired of the same old Ramen surprise? Well look no farther than BackPacker's Pantry. 

I love hiking great distances far away from the masses and soaking in the solitude. But I don't love eating rubbage or the same old meal over and over again and often I am at a loss for a delicious meal while escaping it all. Thankfully BackPacker's Pantry has an amazing assortment of meals that require only a bit of hot water. Check out some of their meals and think of what time, effort and variety of ingredients you would need to pull of some of their gourmet choices. The Pantry has also thought out their meals to include vegetarian and organic choices so every one in your party is pleased. Some of my favorites lately have been Pad See You with Chicken, Bacon and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, but there are some new meals that will be coming out soon, namely Chicken Vindaloo (serves 2) and Organic Peanut Butter & Raisin Oatmeal featuring Justin's peanut butter (serves 1)!! The Chicken Vindaloo was a really top notch meal, based off of the Indian dish by the same name is full of meaty white chicken chunks and a nice semi spicy sauce that really warmed me up from head to toe. In fact the warmth from this lasted for quite a while and I would absolutely recommend this on fall and winter trips. The Organic Peanut Butter & Raisin Oatmeal is a breakfast you can imagine waking up to in a great bed and breakfast. This rich oatmeal is gourmet and I am not sure how they did it but partnering with Justin's peanut butter makes this breakfast POP!! I love oatmeal and this great mixture is quite pleasing. You can get a wide variety of these meals at your local outdoor shop or on line directly from Backpacker's Pantry but you will have to wait until Jan 2011 to get their latest and greatest.
