I needed a good beer to end another long hot day. Most of all to help me wash down my anger that's left over from the teenage couple that decided to park next to me at Safeway and let their door smash into the side of my truck. This is exactly why I parked in the back of an empty lot. Oh well, what are you gonna do? I know, drink a good beer and look forward to a better day.
The beer chose to act as the good medicine on this night was Cali-Belgique from Stone Brewing Company. This Belgian Style IPA wouldn't normally be my first choice, but it came highly recommended. It's a softer on the hoppy side IPA, that sips smooth and crisp. The Cali pours to a golden-orange body, with a thick off white head. There is a refreshing zest of citrus that is most inviting on a warm night. You'll next taste a well mixed blend of floral hops along with Belgian Yeasts that come through on the finish. There is nothing too overpowering about this IPA. It's a pleasant sipper, great for relaxing and trying cool off.
