This dark and decedent Coffeehouse Stout comes to us from AleWerks Brewing Company in Williamsburg, Virginia where they obviously take both their beer and their coffee very seriously. It only seems appropriate that we would kick off the daylight savings madness with a coffee beer to help get us in the mood for earlier mornings.
This seasonal milk stout is brewed with delicious coffee from Antigua Guatemala which gives this beer a mildly acidic nose and a well balanced full bodied roasted chocolate malt finish. This ale pours dark as sin and although I did not try it, I think I could probably have stood a spoon up in it. Rich and thick are the telltale signs of a great milk stout in my book and this little darling fits the bill. Try this for a meal in a glass that is equal parts rich coffee and dessert!
