Join UpaDowna and OutThere Colorado to make a difference by helping us take care of our adopted parks & trails!

LOCATION:
AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL PARK: 126 Cimino Dr. Colorado Springs, CO 80903
(meet in the main entrance near the tall pillars)

DETAILS:

**UPDATE: Participants that are 21+ will be able to get a free half-pint at the downtown FH Beerworks location following the event. This brewery is located blocks away on Tejon.

Trash bags, gloves, water, and snacks will be provided. Have a cleanup or UpaDowna shirt? Please wear it!

The adoption of this parks and trails is in partnership with the City of Colorado Springs. Waivers will need to be signed at every clean up and a brief safety meeting will take place before the cleanup.

Please arrive early, after the safety talk and waivers, we hit the trail ASAP!

Kids are welcome but keep in mind, there can be dangerous objects along the trail. Please keep a close eye on little ones. We currently do not have gloves for kids under 10.

We always suggest to wear lightweight layers, with long pants/ long sleeved shirt and sturdy closed-toed shoes. Bring water and a small backpack for snacks, rain gear, or anything needed to keep kiddos happy, just in case!

Pedal Party-Weekly Community Bike Ride

Pedal Party-Weekly Community Bike Ride @ Oskar Blues Grill & Brew | Colorado Springs | Colorado | United States

The UpaDowna Pedal Party is back for the 9th year! Join us as we head back to Oskar Blues and roll from the FRONT patio to “take over Tejon” and head north on the Greenway trail then south down the Cascade bike lanes! This 5 mile loop is mostly flat and easy for most abilities.

Join us every Wednesday night at 6pm until Sept. 5th!

Details:
-New riders who have not signed a waiver online need to register once and then just check in each time you ride
-Riders who check in 5 or more times are in the drawing to WIN a BRAND NEW BIKE from Old Town Bike Shop!
-Family friendly but bikes with training wheels are not suggested for this route
-We meet around 5:30 and the ride leaves at 6pm SHARP!
-We suggest to be prepared for any weather, HIGHLY suggest a helmet, and bring a bike lock.

What: “Intro to Climbing”, a donation-based class

Why: To encourage all ages and abilities to try the fun and fulfilling sport of climbing!

Goals:

  1. To help individuals, couples, or families experience a new adventure sport in a safe and fun environment.
  2. To help individuals overcome a fear of heights by providing helpful and friendly encouragement.
  3. To overcome as many barriers as possible (cost, equipment, location, knowledge) in order for all ages and abilities to try climbing.

Details: You are invited to join UpaDowna for a first hand tour of CityROCK Climbing Center and intro to climbing class. This class is designed for folks that have never been into CityROCK, are new to climbing, or just getting back into it. You’ll get a tour of the facility and learn the basics of climbing taught by seasoned climbers from UpaDowna and CityROCK. We are stoked to offer you this amazing, donation-based, Intro to Climbing package, complete with climbing gear rental, expert instruction from Cityrock and UpaDowna staff, and food and beverages afterward, a $150 value!

3rd Saturday Adventure- Painted Mines Interpretive Park

Join UpaDowna for our 3rd Saturday adventures.  Once a month we will lead a guided hike to explore a new trail, hike, or adventure topic.  All ages, abilities, and experience levels are welcome!

Paint Mines Trail is a 3.4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Calhan, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. Pets are not allowed inside of the park.

Directions:

From Colorado Springs, take 24 to Calhan. Turn right on Yoder, then left on Paint Mine Road.
