Our first SPUR activity of the year! Join staff member Delina (Dee) Auciello at CityROCK for a fun, supportive, and easy going women’s only climb night! Unlike our “Intro to Climbing Class” https://www.facebook.com/events/454654665231939/, this meetup is intended for those that are familiar with climbing and may have their own equipment as well. (Day pass to CityROCK with harness only $19! If you need shoes they will be an additional $5.)

Details:
-CityROCK waiver/safety video required before climbing (if your first time): https://climbcityrock.com/climbing/online-waiver
-Must have a CityROCK membership or pay for a day pass (discount available)
-Must have equipment or pay for a rental (discount available)
-In order to belay at CityROCK, you need to be certified by them
-No structured instructions will be given but you can ask for help if needed!
-This is not an UpaDowna guided/structured activity. It is simply a meetup (come when you can and leave when you want!)

About SPUR Groups:
To UpaDowna, the definition of SPUR is Similar Paths United (by) Recreation. Many of us walk the same path and don’t even know it. Finding camaraderie with others who share similar interests helps us feel more comfortable with new experiences. Many times, it can also help to share your challenges with folks who are “climbing” the same mountain as you. In simple terms, UpaDowna’s mission is to provide access to outdoor adventures for all. Staying true to our mission, we will still continue to offer activities and programs that are free and open to everyone. However, more and more similar interest groups have organically started to pop up within our organization. Enter our “SPUR” groups. Many participants find out at our programs that they have something in common; they are single parents, or maybe dog lovers, or possibly they just moved to Colorado. Stay tuned for additional SPUR activities!
