"Whoa momma" was my initial reaction to the first drink of this beer. I'll begin with this, if you're not into spicy foods or chili beers stay away from this one. The Ghost Face Killah from Twisted Pine Brewing Company might not be the hottest beer in the world, but it has got to be way up on the charts. It's definitely the hottest beer I've ever had. Ghost Face Killah is named for the extreme six pepper blend it's masterfully brewed with, not your favorite member of the Wu-Tang Clan. That 6 pepper list consists of Anaheim, Fresno, Jalapeno, Serrano, Habanero and Bhut Jolokia – aka the Ghost Pepper.
I was a little bummed out when I saw that my local shop was selling these individually and not by the pack, but after getting home and drinking just one I realized that's absolutely all I needed or cared to have in one sitting. This spicy treat (if you want to call it that) from Twisted Pine Brewing Company was anything but easy to drink. Like a badge of honor though, I had to finish it. To be honest I enjoyed it, not for its drinkability, but for the efforts put behind it. This dry hopped sadistic beer has an ABV of 5.0% but I doubt you'll drink enough to be to concerned with this. There is a powerful aroma blast that will bite at your nose before you even get the first drink. Like everything else about this beer it finishes much the same, HOT!
If you're a little soft on the spicy stuff you might want to have another beer close by. Even if you're a fan of the hot stuff I'm sure this beer will catch you by surprise. A few good pairings for this beer would be another beer to wash it down with, Mexican food (no need for hot sauce apply the beer), ice cream, popsicles, ice cubes, or anything else from the freezer. Okay it might not have been that bad, but I can think of a few friends who would say it is.
