This ingenious design is geared for those individuals who want a bomb proof yet easily accessible wallet that breaks away from the classic lead weight that we are usually stuck hauling around. Made from recycled plastic and transformed into a translucent shell complete with rounded corners to ease in and out of your pocket. The folks that designed had you in mind when they designed this thing.
I received one of these wallets as a gift and have been stoked with it! When I first got my hands on this wallet I was convinced that it would be uncomfortable and a bit cumbersome, and much to my surprise it was neither. The design of this wallet is minimalist and sleek, only having enough room for a few bills and a few cards and nothing else. Should you decide that you want to stuff the wallet it has a simple fail safe, it will not latch shut. Thus keeping you true to the reason you purchased this wallet in the first place, to limit the bulk and weight.
Another advantage to the design is that it fits anywhere. I have carried it in my front pants pocket, back pocket, cargo pocket, cycling jersey pocket etc… and never had an issue with it being uncomfortable. If you still aren't convinced, the Jimi Thin has a removable money clip option so you can ditch the outer shell for an even smaller wallet.
Now with anything there are always the negatives, and for this wallet I would have to say that the only negatives are assumptions not realities. What I mean is that the wallet is made totally of plastic and as such the hinges, I assume, will eventually wear out and break. How long it will take I have no idea but I get the feeling that eventually they will. Other than that I really have nothing else to say that would detract from this well thought out convenient and kick ass product.
For those more asthetically minded you have the option to purchase this wallet in a variety of colors. You should also take a gander at this great demo the folks at Jimi put up, it breaks down the how to of this ingenious design. If you are thinking of picking one up I have seen them in most gear shops and almost all bike shops. Other wise you can get it through Jimi.
