Pumpkick

This week’s BOTW is a seasonal treat from New Belgium that you don’t want to miss! Pumpkick is only available from August to October, so if you haven’t had one yet get out there and pick some up while they’re still available! Pumpkick is pours to a brown color with on orange hue to it. The head is a thick two finger fluffy white that sits atop the beer long. The taste is everything you want from a pumpkin beer, with allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon blasting through. But it’s the extra flavors of lemon grass and cranberry that bring out a refreshing and tasty zip to this beer. Pump kick’s taste is unusual, but I’m digging it! One, two, maybe three, but much more than that in a sitting might be a bit much for me on the sweet side. Topped with a respectable 6% ABV, 2 or 3 of these is a good number to have before moving on to something else or hanging it up for the night.

If you’re looking for pumpkin based beer to match everything else pumpkin flavored for the season, the Pumpkick is a great choice with an unusual and unique spin on it. Like it or not, this is one I’m sure you’ll remember trying.
