BREWERY: SANTE ADAIRIUS RUSTIC ALES
I had to say I was pretty excited for this beer as I really enjoy it’s base beer- West Ashley. Westly is an American wild ale that is aged twice as long in the barrel and on twice as many apricots as West Ashley. Double the pleasure usually means double the fun. Pouring this beer into the glass reminded me of drinking a Naked Juice Mighty Mango. It has that same bright orange opaqueness just not as thick. The aroma gets you in the back of the jaw, right as it’s poured, with that tartness coming out. The first sip did not disappoint. The fruitiness lends more of a lambic flavor initially. The apricots and tartness stick with you throughout this beer and more funk came out as it warmed up. I have been happy with the complexity and funk from Sante Adairus and this was no exception. This beer won’t be easy to track down but it or West Ashley are worth it in my opinion.
