Another week has come and gone. I hope you got to enjoy it or at least took something away from it. The UpaDowna crew was in full force in Vail, CO. at the 2011 Teva Mountain Games. It was a fun filled weekend packed with great great friends and memories. We got a chance to catch up with some of our favorite people in the outdoor industry, check out some new products, see amazing athletes compete in a wide variety of sports, and of course we drank some beer. It was pretty warm out there, and judging by how dry my lips feel right now, the sun definitely dried me out. As I started to unpack and organize my gear in my hot garage I knew it would be the perfect time to research this week's BOTW. As you might imagine, it was quite a delight to see that my roommate Andy had graciously provided our beer fridge with some much needed refreshing summer brews. And that is where I pulled this week's refreshing choice, Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat.
This delicious 12 ounce treat has an ABV of 5.2%, that is brewed with clover honey, wheat ale, and a touch of orange peal that nicely balances out the beer with a soft citrus taste. Summer Honey Wheat is part of Blue Moon's seasonal collection and has a limited release. This beer is very light and goes down quick, it was the perfect end to the long weekend, or any hot day.
The Summer Honey Wheat is a Gold Medal winner from the 2010 GABF (Great American Beer Fest), but more importantly it is now also among UpaDowna's BOTW list. The Blue Moon Brewery is based out of Golden CO. and is a subsidiary of the MillerCoors corporation.
Big thanks to Teva and Vail for hosting the 2011 Teva Mountain Games. It was great meeting new people along with seeing our friends from Paradox Sports, SeasonFive, Outside Media, Mile High Mountaineering, Jansport, Osprey, First Descents, Gearonimo, Wigwam, and FliBye Racing. Also Timmy O'Neill, Matt Lamb, Matt Laubhan, the Eicher family, and many others. Thanks for sharing your weekend with us!
