With summer in full swing and the occasional scorcher here on Colorado's Front Range I every so often long for the cooler days and mild nights when front porch sipping sessions are getting a bit nippy and the puffy jacket is needed. Well our New Belgium beer ranger must have read my mind when he slipped me a bottle of their soon to be released "Tour de Fall" pale ale. This brand spanking new fall seasonal is not yet in the stores but I really wish it was. The smooth and extremely well balanced pale ale has a great session potential. New Belgium took some of their go to Cascade and Amarillo hops and worked their brew magic to give great balance to this beer. The ever so slight sweet malt start transitions in to a refreshing hop finish that creates probably one of the best pale ales I have had in a while. In fact this one might give my current go to of Oskar Blues Dale's pale ale a run for the money!
And what's more is that this beer was created as an ode to where New Belgium's passion lies, great beer and great events! This beer is a play on the ever popular Tour De Fat bikes and beer fest that travels across the county every year. And while the Tour de Fat keeps missing my town of Colorado Springs, CO we do get the equally exciting Clips Beer and Film tour! That's right folks this coming Thursday July 17th at America the Beautiful park starting when it gets dark. We'll have a bike valet set up so you can ride down and enjoy 18 of New Belgium's finest beers and watch some great short films as we all follow our folly of great craft beers and great artistic spirit!! And the added bonus is that the Clips is a fund raiser for not only UpaDowna but also our fellow non profit and good buddies over at Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates!!! It's a win-win so come on down a join us!!! Here's a link to the fun!
