General Sherman IPA

This beer was amazing for me. I spent a few nights in Sequoia National Park last week with one of the main goals being to visit General Sherman (the largest living tree in the world, by volume). Upon arrival in the Three Rivers area I stopped at a general store to grab some provisions for the next few days. When I saw the General Sherman IPA sitting there I knew it was a must.
The General Sherman IPA pours to a golden body with a full white head. The head spouts great retention and a moderate lacing clings to the glass. The taste is loaded with citrus and pine hops with a bit of a resiny flavor to it. the mouth feel is sharp and clean but leaves a bit of thick feel and lingering bitterness. The bitter and the sweet are very well balanced, making it an easy drinker for an IPA. The Sherman's 7.5% ABV was no match for the beautiful night hanging with new friends around the campfire. That sixer went as easy as it came, but I managed to save one for to enjoy with the tree that gave it it's name sake.
When it comes to doing our BOTW posts some of them don't excite me as much as others, but taking the time to lug a bottle and a pint down to the mighty Sequoia Tree for this one was well worth it.
