I'm not much of a fashionista, we'll say that. For example, I'm pretty sure that I own the world's largest wardrobe of T-shirts. My winter clothing selection is pretty slim as well, I tend to stick to just a few long sleeve shirts and sweaters that can double as "work" clothes as well as camping clothes. Now, with so many options of outdoor "lifestyle" clothing, it's making it easier and easier to find fashionable and functional clothes for the out of doors.

The Hi-Tec Thomas Boot 200 i is one of those products.  With a design that is versatile in seasons from fall to spring, it makes a name for itself as the perfect après-ski boot and can attack almost any condition.

I received this boot to gear test in late-September and here in Colorado Springs, we're still waiting for snow…even after Halloween which is rare for us. Since there is not much by way of precipitation around here, I went out of my way to step in a creek while camping. The i-sheild worked like a charm, quickly repelling the water away and allowing the area that was splashed to dry as I kept walking on the trail. I will update later once I have a chance to test the boots during a rainy or snowy day.

Since I put these boots on, they have been my go-to shoe except for when I head to the trail. I've used them around the campsite, for use in every-day activities, during cold weather, and even in 70 degree warm fall days.

The laces are easy to tie and untie, the boot is easy to take off when untied and the only thing that rubbed my foot the wrong way was the heel cup which after wearing, has worn a little and is now comfortable. The footbed is comfortable and has a similar feel to a sandal or loafers. So far the soles of the boots are hanging tough and not succumbing to punctures from rocks, sticks or every-day wear and tear.

I still feel a little out of my element here, they are a step above my fashion sense but I really enjoy them and the fact that they serve as both a fashionable and functionable item!
