The Biffy Bag
Another one of those hmmm moments during the Outdoor Retailer show occurred when we came upon the Biffy Bag aka pocket potty, stashable shitter, packable privy, well you get the point. In case you didn’t pick up on where I was going with that, a “biffy“>Biffy” is apparently a bit of slang referring to a toilet. I love the fact that this product exists and I really dig the fact that the guy promoting it was really excited about the product. So how could I not give it a go?!
Admittedly I did not fully use the Biffy Bag but I did follow the directions on fit and function. And all it all it seems like a viable solution especially for those in desert environments. The gist of the Biffy Bag is that you carry it with you while in the backcountry and when nature calls you simply unfold the bag drop some magic dust (included) in the bottom of it, tie it around your waste bend your knees and relax. Well, I am not certain of the relaxation part especially when trying to concentrate on the task at hand all while balancing. It appears that with this diaper wrap design even the most violent of occurrences will still stay contained with in the bag. As for taking care of the liquids the afor mentioned magic dust is actually called Biffy Powder and all I know is that it absorbs liquid like a champ, it also claims to be a deodorizer but I was not able to test that one out. Another question that begs to be answered is how do you “clean up” I assume you let the bag hang from your waist, reach between your legs, wipe, drop the wipe in, remove the bag and tie it up. But I do wonder if this limits those that are side wipers or those with poor balance. And for them I suppose you can do the good old buddy system

Here is the last bit of info on the Biffy Bag:
• 3 layers of leak protection
• The revolutionary Biffy Bag
• An Odor Free zip top Transport Bag
• One package of proprietary super absorbent Biffy Powder
• An abundance of 2-ply Toilet Paper to complete the job
• Over sized wipe, for freshening up when you are done
• Peace of Mind knowing you have a sanitary place to go whenever nature calls.
Pack size is 5″ x 5″ and although I did not weigh it I would guess 5 or 6 oz, until you’ve used it! MSRP is $3.49 each but you can buy quantities up to 100 for $299.99, now that’s a lot of biff!
