On April 20, 2010 Aubrey Sacco of Greeley, Colorado signed into the Langtang conservation area in Northern Nepal, and that's the last we know of it. The 23 year old set off by herself on a popular, fairly safe trek, estimated to be a 10-15 day hike. Inns frequent the trail every few miles in each direction. Aubrey promised her family she would check in by email around April 29th, but still no one has heard from her. On May 1st, shortly after Aubrey began her journey, a general strike and protest broke out in Kathmandu, Nepal, by Maoist former rebels. This shut down all transportation to and from the area until the strike ended on May 7th. It wasn't until then that Nepalis police received any information that she was missing, and immediately began a search. The hopes are that Aubrey just buckled down wherever she was, to wait out the conflict. Her father believes she is fine, and that she's just out of contact. If this true and everything is well, Aubrey should be boarding a plane on Saturday, May 15th. Let's hope she makes her flight. Good luck Aubrey, we hope to hear all about your adventure soon.

Menikmati,

Bunny
