The Salmon Effect

They say the flap of a single butterfly's wings can change the weather across the world. We can also just say it represents a single change that can cause or create several different outcomes. This is known as, The Butterfly Effect, or The Chaos Theory. The Obama Administration might have just created one, which they can soon dub, The Salmon Effect. The Administration was poised to act on a plan that would remove hydroelectric dams that have been killing 13 different species of endangered salmon as well as steelhead in the Columbia River Basin. On Thursday, May 20 the revised 2008 Bush-era biological plan was submitted to U.S. District Judge James Redden in Portland, OR. The changes submitted where minor to none at all. Many advocates as well as government officials believe this to be in direct violation of the Endangered Species Act.
