Big Daddy IPA

Photo:

While spending some time in California recently, I was surprised by a nice collection of craft brews that one of my cousins has been stocking up for me, mainly made up of beers from the West Coast.

The Big Daddy lives up to it's name! This delicious IPA pours to a copper body with a fluffy, full off-white head. A thick lacing sticks to your mouth and the glass with every drink. The mouthfeel is that of a medium bodied beer with a decent amount of carbonation. Strong tastes of pine and citrus hops greet you at the front of the drink, with a mild hint of floral hops at the follow.

There are so many great IPAs out there it's really hard to find one now a days that separates itself from the rest. I would say that the overall smooth mouthfeel is what brings the Big Daddy IPA to life. The malt is a little more than you might be used to but the carbonation and crisp feel bring it to a great balance with a respectful 6.50% ABV.

Special thanks to my cousin Jesse for the great beers. I'm excited to try all these and write about them too!
