Biere De Garde

Brewery Vivant and New Belgium Brewery have teamed up to bring us another spot on 22 ounces of amazement with their newest release in the Lips of Faith Series, Biere De Garde.
The Biere De Garde was highly recommended to be the BOTW from several friends and backing the point even more was it's gold medal placing over the weekend at the 2012 All Colorado Brew Fest. To the victor go the spoils, so not only did our local Southern Colorado New Belgium Brewery "Beer Ranger" and friend Travis Flett get to wash the win down with his own ale, he also bit down on some gold!

I enjoyed kicking back this evening and finishing off the beginning of the week with a Gold Medalist of beers. The Biere De Garde is nicely carbonated golden body that pours to a thin white head. Not a very sticky beer and a thin lacing is left on the pint. It follows with a pleasant citrus bite that goes down smooth with a nice finish. Biere De Garde gets its amazing-ness from a mixture of Pale, Munich, and C-120 Malts, combined with Target, and Sorachi Ace Hops. To top it off and possibly hide it's bad boy 9.0% ABV, the Bier De Grade is fully brewed with orange peels, giving it a refreshing citrus finish.
Make no mistake though, this Farm House Style Ale or French Saison if you will, still delivers the warm bodied mouthfeel and tart follow expected from a Saison.
A big congrats to New Belgium Brewery and Brewery Vivant on bringing home the gold! We hope to see more great collaborations from the two of you in the future! All I can say is wow! There are so many things to enjoy in life and be thankful for. This beer is a great complement to this time of reflection. Cheers, friends!
