Ice Climbing In Oklahoma City

People all over the US are taking advantage of the abnormally cold temperatures and crazy snow fall. I’ve read stories of snow margaritas, skiing neighborhood streets, and now we have ice climbing in Oklahoma. Aaron Gibson has given many climbers the opportunity to switch up their regular gym visit by adding crampons and ice axes. This is actually the second year Gibson has created an artificial ice wall outside Rocktown Climbing Gym in Oklahoma City. By hauling a hose to the top, in three days with freezing temperatures, he was able to create a 60 foot ice climb. I’m not a climber but who would pass up the opportunity to give it try?! Warmer temperatures are slowly melting their fun away, but don’t think for a second they aren’t waiting for their next chance!
