Spring Blonde

What a beautiful day here in Colorado Springs for a nice light  warm weather type of a beer. I was not sure what to reach for until I ran into my good buddy Steve T. who handed me the new Spring Blonde from New Belgium Brewing Co. 

The Spring Blonde pours to a translucent golden body with a fluffy white head that quickly dissipates. A clean sweet aroma wafts from the glass that continues through to the taste with hints of citrus- especially noticeable is the lemon. The body and feel are clean and smooth for the most part, although the carbonation seems high. Dispite the high carbonation, I kind of liked that feel throughout the entire beer. Cloaked in this smooth ale is the perfectly balanced and moderate ABV of 6.0%.

I have to say the timing of this beer couldn't be any better with with the first ride of the UpaDowna Pedal Party right around the corner! I'm sure the Spring Blonde is going to be a hit for the ride.

New Belgium labeling this beer as a Spring drink is spot on. It is crisp, refreshing, light, and smooth. Overall a great beer from start to finish. This is definitely a good choice of a beer to reward yourself with after a warm day of play and adventure.
